Palm And Needle Whipping

This durable and reliable whipping is especially suited to twisted natural fiber rope, but can also be tied on braided or artificial fiber ropes. It will stand up well to friction, so it can be employed for heavy usage. You will need a needle with an eye big enough to take whipping twine.

Steps to Palm-And-Needle Whipping :

To ensure the knotted end of the twine is held securely, push the needle through the center of a strand.Palm and Needle Whipping 1
Make the required number of turns toward the rope end and then push the needle behind one of the rope strands.Palm and Needle Whipping 2
Follow the gap between the strands down the lower end of the whipping. Insert the needle so that it exits from the next gap and follow back to the top of the whipping. Continue to create this diagonal line running down each gap.Palm and Needle Whipping 3
To finish, pull the twine under the whipping and trim the loose ends. If the rope is braided rather than twisted, the diagonal lines can still be added.Palm and Needle Whipping 4
