A stolen car, a wounded carjacking victim, a police chase across multiple communities, and one decision to turn back ended in a crash that killed an 85-year-old woman and left two young men facing decades in prison.
In a video posted by the bodycam footage channel Police Insider, the host described a case that began when two suspects stole a vehicle after shooting its owner three times, then continued the next day when officers spotted the stolen car and a 19-year-old driver refused to stop.
The footage shows the chase ending in a violent crash after spike strips were deployed, with officers rushing between the injured suspects in the stolen vehicle and an elderly couple in a white pickup truck that had been struck.
According to Police Insider’s narration, the car seen in the footage had been stolen the day before, after two suspects shot a man during a carjacking and drove away in his vehicle. The host said the pursuit that followed reached about 80 mph before the crash changed several families’ lives permanently.
A Stolen Car And A Chase Through Several Cities
Police Insider reported that the vehicle had been taken after a violent carjacking, and the bodycam audio picks up officers tracking the car as it moved through the area.
One officer is heard warning that the vehicle is “coming right at you” and has “one headlight,” while another later reports a “good hit” after the vehicle crashes.
The footage quickly shifts from pursuit to emergency response, with officers calling for medical help and trying to assess several injured people at once.
“Crash down,” an officer says over the radio. “Send the squad.”
The scene is difficult because officers are handling two problems at the same time. They have to secure the suspects in a stolen vehicle where a gun is believed to be present, while also trying to help innocent people who were hit during the crash.

Officers Find An Elderly Couple Injured

Police Insider later reported that the woman in the pickup did not survive.
A Gun In The Stolen Vehicle
The suspects in the stolen vehicle were also badly hurt, and the bodycam footage shows officers trying to control the scene while keeping themselves safe.
At one point, officers ask where the gun is and warn the suspect not to reach for it or even look toward it.

Another officer warns that there is a gun in the car and tells others to keep a weapon trained on the suspect while they try to help him.

One officer tells the injured suspect that paramedics are there and asks whether he can move if helped out of the car.
“My leg,” the suspect says.
The officer then decides not to pull him out, saying it would only hurt him more, and tells him to wait for firefighters to cut the vehicle open.

Police Insider’s host later said the man whose car was stolen survived after being shot three times during the carjacking.
In the video, that victim describes the moment the gunman approached his vehicle.
He says someone knocked hard on his window, and when he looked over, the person was pointing a gun at him and gesturing for him to get out. He put his hands up and exited the car, but then another person ran up from the same direction.
“As soon as I saw him running up, he shot,” the carjacking victim says in the footage.
He said that during the first shots, he believed he was going to die.
“I think he was trying to kill me,” he said.
The victim also reflected on the suspects’ ages, saying they were young but had made choices that could leave them in prison for the rest of their lives.
“How could that ever be worth it?” he said, urging people to “find a better route in life.”
That line carries more weight because it comes from someone who had every reason to be angry. He survived being shot, then later saw the stolen car connected to his attack become part of a crash that killed someone else.
A Courtroom Reckoning
The Police Insider video also included courtroom footage from the sentencing phase, where the 19-year-old driver faced the consequences of the chase and the wider crime spree connected to it.
The host said the woman in the pickup truck died at the hospital from her injuries. She was 85 years old.
The driver was convicted across multiple cases, including involuntary manslaughter, aggravated robbery, carrying a concealed weapon, and other counts tied to the broader series of crimes. Police Insider said he was also separately indicted on nine drug-related counts, including trafficking.
Combined, his sentences totaled 71 and a half years in prison.
In court, the judge addressed the defense claim that the defendant still had the potential to do good.
“The defense suggests that the defendant has the potential to do good,” the judge said. “I hope that’s true. However, any good you do for a long time to come will be within the state prison.”
The defendant apologized in court, saying he understood what he did was wrong and took full responsibility for his actions.
A relative of the woman who died, identified in the footage as Grace Henry, said forgiveness was not something she had reached.
“I have to admit that in this situation, forgiveness is not a place where I have yet arrived,” she said.

Passenger Sentenced In The Original Carjacking
Police Insider reported that the passenger, who was 20, also faced charges connected to the crash, though those were dropped in favor of more serious counts from Cleveland tied to the original carjacking.
He was convicted on charges including aggravated robbery and attempted murder, and was sentenced to 18 years in prison.
