“There’s No Reason For You To Be Here”: Mom Refuses to Hand Over Son After Hit-and-Run

A tense doorstep standoff unfolded when officers arrived to arrest a man accused of causing a serious hit-and-run crash, only to be met by his mother, who repeatedly questioned why police were there and resisted efforts to bring her son outside, according to bodycam footage shared by CodeC911.

The channel said the June 17, 2026, case began a month after the man allegedly drove a Ford F-150 at high speed on the wrong side of the road, crashed into a GMC Acadia and injured its driver before fleeing into a wooded area.

He was arrested after that first incident, but CodeC911 said later blood-test results showed alcohol and drugs in his system, leading police to return with a new arrest warrant.

Police Arrive With A New Warrant

Bodycam footage shows officers approaching the home and asking to speak with Andrew, the man they were there to arrest.

His family initially told police he was sleeping.

An officer explained that they needed to speak with him about the crash from several weeks earlier, but Andrew’s mother questioned why police could not simply deal with his lawyer.

The officers said they had to speak with him directly.

When she insisted they had no reason to be there, one officer answered plainly.

“The warrant is our reason,” he said.

She still pushed back.

“There really isn’t,” she replied.

That exchange set the tone for the next several minutes, with officers trying to explain that the situation was no longer a voluntary conversation about the crash.

They had an arrest warrant.

Mother Demands Proof

Andrew’s mother repeatedly asked officers to prove that a warrant existed.

Police showed her paperwork, but she said she had trouble reading it without her glasses.

One officer then tried to explain what the warrant involved.

According to the footage, he told the family that investigators had received results from a blood draw showing Andrew had allegedly been intoxicated and under the influence of drugs during the crash.

“He hurt two people,” the officer said while explaining why additional charges had been filed.

The family pushed back by saying Andrew had already been charged after the original incident.

Police explained that the first charges involved leaving the scene and other conduct from the crash, while the new arrest stemmed from the toxicology results and added allegations tied to impaired driving.

That distinction appeared to frustrate the family, but the officers repeatedly made clear that they were not there to debate the case at the front door.

Officers Warn Family About Hindering

As the conversation continued, police became increasingly concerned that the family was delaying the arrest.

One officer told Andrew’s mother that she was “actively hindering” by keeping him inside after being informed that officers had a warrant.

She denied interfering.

The officer then warned that if Andrew was not brought outside soon, she could also face charges.

At one point, the family tried to close the door.

Police told them not to shut it completely while someone went to wake Andrew.

The officer said he was willing to wait briefly, but he wanted the suspect brought to the door.

That was where the encounter began to shift from argument into ultimatum.

The family kept insisting that police could have contacted Andrew’s lawyer and arranged for him to surrender later.

Officers responded that they had a valid warrant and were there to execute it.

“He’ll Get Here When He Wants To”

The delay continued.

One family member suggested Andrew would come downstairs when he was ready.

Police clearly did not accept that.

“Andrew, let’s go,” an officer called toward the home.

The officers repeatedly asked the family to tell him to come outside immediately.

As the minutes passed, their patience began to run out.

One officer warned that the adults in the home had roughly two minutes before police started making additional arrests for hindering.

“I don’t want it to go that way,” he said.

He also pointed out that children were inside the home and said the situation could become much more complicated if the family continued blocking the arrest.

The exchange is a good example of how quickly a warrant service can become chaotic when relatives try to turn it into a negotiation. The officers were not asking whether Andrew wanted to come outside; they were telling the family he was being taken into custody.

Andrew Eventually Comes To The Door

After several warnings, Andrew finally appeared.

Bodycam footage shows officers immediately ordering him to turn around and face the wall.

He complied.

Police told him he was being arrested on two new counts connected to the crash after investigators received the blood-test results.

Andrew did not appear to resist during the second arrest.

One officer even told him he was glad he came outside.

That brought an end to the standoff without officers forcing entry into the home or arresting members of Andrew’s family.

Considering how heated the argument became, the outcome could easily have been more confrontational.

CodeC911 Says Crash Involved Serious Injuries

According to the channel’s narration, the original crash involved a Ford F-150 traveling on the wrong side of the road before colliding with a GMC Acadia.

The driver of the Acadia was seriously injured.

CodeC911 said Andrew fled after the crash and ran into a wooded area.

Police eventually located him there, and the channel said he assaulted or injured a police K-9 during the arrest.

Those allegations led to a long list of initial charges.

The channel said Andrew was first charged with leaving the scene of a crash causing serious bodily injury, three counts of assault by auto, resisting arrest, injuring a police K-9, reckless and careless driving, failure to maintain a lane and failing to report the crash.

The later lab results added another layer to the case.

CodeC911 said toxicology testing later confirmed that Andrew had been driving while impaired by alcohol and drugs.

Police then obtained the warrant that brought them back to his home.

The new charges included two counts of assault by auto causing serious bodily injury while driving impaired, according to the channel.

Those charges remain allegations, and Andrew is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty.

The bodycam footage does not decide whether he committed the offenses.

What it does show is the difficulty police faced simply trying to carry out the warrant after his family resisted the idea that he needed to be taken into custody again.

Doorstep Argument Ends Without More Arrests

The most striking part of the encounter may be how long the family continued arguing after officers said they had a warrant in hand.

Andrew’s mother repeatedly insisted there was no reason for police to be there, even after they explained the toxicology results and showed her the paperwork.

From her perspective, the family appeared to believe the matter should have been handled through Andrew’s attorney.

From the officers’ perspective, there was nothing left to arrange.

A judge had already authorized the arrest.

In the end, Andrew came outside, officers handcuffed him, and no family members were taken into custody for hindering.

The standoff ended peacefully, but only after repeated warnings that the situation was close to escalating.

For CodeC911, the footage shows how a case that began with an alleged wrong-way crash, serious injuries and a flight into the woods later returned to the suspect’s own front door, where police had to spend several minutes convincing his family that the warrant meant exactly what it said.
