Police Respond to Suspicious Woman Smoking at Marina Gas Pumps and End Up in Handcuffs

A call about a woman smoking near fuel pumps at a Key West marina turned into an arrest after officers said she refused to identify herself, would not leave her boat, and ignored repeated commands to come back onto the dock.

Arrest Cam Fish and Wildlife reported that the incident happened on March 6, 2025, when officers with the Key West Police Department responded to a dock after receiving a call about a suspicious woman. According to the channel’s narration, officers were told while responding that the woman had been smoking cigarettes near a fuel pump and had been asked to leave several times.

When officers arrived, they made contact with the woman, later identified by the channel as 42-year-old Melissa. The bodycam footage showed the situation already tense, with officers telling her to get off her boat as she stayed aboard a small dinghy near the dock.

Marina Staff Say She Was Asked To Move
