A man who appeared to spend several minutes trying to keep his girlfriend from being arrested at a restaurant ended up being blamed by her once the situation finally unraveled, with bodycam footage showing the woman shouting that he had nothing to do with her choices before later screaming that she hated him.

The incident was featured by bodycam channel Crime Time Cam, whose narrator said officers had been called to a local restaurant over a disturbance involving a woman named Christine.

At first, police appeared willing to let the matter end simply by getting Christine to leave the business.

Her boyfriend repeatedly tried to help make that happen, urging her to stop arguing, cooperate with officers and walk home with him.

Instead, Christine resisted those efforts, grew increasingly confrontational and eventually struck him in front of police, according to the footage.

Officers Initially Just Wanted Her To Leave

The encounter began with an officer telling Christine that restaurant management wanted her off the property.

He repeatedly asked whether she would step outside so they could talk about what had happened.

Christine did not immediately comply.

She said she wanted to finish her drink, questioned the officers and made several unusual remarks, including saying she was there with Jesus Christ and referring to one officer as an admirer.

When her boyfriend approached, he quickly recognized that the situation was getting worse.

“Go home, babe,” Christine told him at first.

But he stayed and tried to convince her that leaving voluntarily was the best option.

The officers seemed to share that goal.

They were not immediately trying to arrest her; they were trying to get her out of the restaurant without turning a trespassing complaint into something more serious.

Her Boyfriend Tries To Talk Her Down

Christine’s boyfriend repeatedly warned her that she could end up in jail if she kept refusing to leave.

“They’re going to arrest you,” he told her.

She dismissed that possibility.

He continued telling her that the officers were simply doing their jobs and tried to guide her away from the restaurant.

“We’re walking home,” he said at one point.

His tone was frustrated, but his purpose appeared clear: get Christine away from the business before she gave police a reason to arrest her.

For several minutes, it almost worked.

The group began moving away, and her boyfriend thanked the officers while continuing to tell Christine to stop arguing.

The whole scene could likely have ended there.

Instead, Christine kept turning back toward police, demanding names and continuing the confrontation.

Christine Strikes The Man Trying To Help Her

The encounter changed when Christine appeared to hit her boyfriend.

An officer immediately noticed what happened.

“She just punched me,” the boyfriend said before almost instantly trying to walk it back.

“No, no, no. She didn’t punch me,” he said. “I slipped.”

That attempt to protect her did not work.

Police had witnessed enough to move toward an arrest.

Her boyfriend again tried to intervene verbally.

“No, she’s not under arrest,” he told officers as they began taking Christine into custody.

His efforts were unsuccessful.

The arrest became chaotic, with Christine screaming as officers tried to control her and place her in restraints.

Ironically, the man she had just hit was still trying to help her at that point.

“He Has Nothing To Do With Me And My Choices”

Once Christine was being arrested, however, her attitude toward her boyfriend changed dramatically.

She shouted that he had nothing to do with her behavior.

“He has nothing to do with me and my choices,” Christine yelled.

Moments later, she turned on him more directly.

“I hate you, Muhammad,” she screamed.

The shift was striking because Muhammad had spent most of the encounter doing exactly the opposite of what someone trying to cause trouble would do.

He had encouraged her to listen to police, leave the property and avoid arrest.

At one point, he even tried to deny that she had struck him.

Crime Time Cam said Christine was ultimately charged with disorderly conduct and assault following that incident.

The footage shows how quickly an effort to protect someone from consequences can become part of the chaos itself, especially when the person being helped refuses every opportunity to walk away.

Months Later, Police Encounter Her Again

Crime Time Cam then showed a second incident involving Christine on February 11, 2025.

This time, officers were dispatched after a restaurant employee reported being assaulted.

Christine was again argumentative when police tried to determine what had happened.

She told officers that she had only gone into the restaurant to use the bathroom and insisted that the matter was none of their business.

Another woman who had been with her tried to explain the situation to police.

She said she had met Christine at an Applebee’s, the two later went to another restaurant for food, and Christine then returned to the first area because she needed to use a restroom.

The woman repeatedly apologized to officers and said she had been trying to calm Christine down.

According to her account, she was not a longtime friend and had only met Christine that evening.

That detail made the second incident somewhat similar to the first: another person found herself trying to contain Christine’s behavior while Christine continued escalating.

Her Companion Says She Tried To Stop The Drama

The woman told officers she had tried to persuade Christine not to argue with restaurant staff.

She said she told her to simply explain that she needed to use the bathroom and then leave.

At one point, an officer summarized the situation by saying the woman had essentially been trying to save Christine from getting arrested.

She agreed that she had been trying to help.

The officers eventually determined that the companion had not been responsible for the disturbance and allowed her to leave.

Christine was not as fortunate.

Restaurant staff told police that she had kicked a manager, and an officer also accused Christine of kicking law enforcement during the arrest.

Christine denied both accusations.

“I did not assault anybody,” she said.

She also insisted that she had pushed an officer away rather than kicked him.

Second Incident Ends With More Charges

Crime Time Cam said Christine was charged with simple battery and battery on a law enforcement officer after the February incident.

The footage did not present a final court outcome for those charges.

Across both encounters, however, the pattern was difficult to miss.

In the first incident, her boyfriend repeatedly tried to prevent her from being arrested, only to be struck and then blamed as Christine was taken into custody.

In the second, a woman who barely knew her tried to stop another restaurant dispute from escalating and ended up explaining to police that she had spent the evening trying to calm things down.

The unusual part of the first encounter was not simply that Christine became angry with police.

It was how much effort Muhammad put into keeping the situation from reaching the point of arrest, even denying that she had hit him after officers apparently saw it happen.

By the time Christine shouted that she hated him, he had already spent much of the encounter trying to protect her from consequences she repeatedly seemed determined to create for herself.
