A hotel dispute involving an intoxicated 21-year-old woman escalated from damaged property to a chaotic arrest after police arrived, with bodycam footage showing the woman arguing with officers, admitting she had thrown an item inside the hotel and later resisting as officers tried to take her into custody.
The incident happened on December 29, 2024, according to recently released bodycam footage presented by the YouTube channel Midwest Safety. The channel’s host said the woman, identified in the footage as Sierra, appeared to have become heavily intoxicated during a meeting with a man at the hotel before the disagreement spilled into the lobby and police were called.
What followed was a confusing exchange in which officers tried to piece together what had happened while Sierra repeatedly emphasized that she was drunk, said she was only 21 and complained that she had nowhere safe to go.
Officers Arrive To A Confusing Hotel Dispute
At the beginning of the footage, hotel staff directed police toward a woman on the second floor and described the man who was with her. Officers then encountered the man, who told them Sierra was intoxicated and said he was trying to find another hotel where she could stay.
He was reluctant to explain exactly what had happened between them, telling officers he did not want to make accusations that might get anyone arrested.
“I don’t want to put nobody in jail,” he told police, while saying he was simply trying to make sure the situation ended safely.
Sierra soon entered the conversation herself and made her level of intoxication obvious.
“I’m 21,” she said. “I’m not able to drive home. I’m drunk.”
She also said she was not from Milwaukee and appeared frustrated that she was being told to leave the hotel after traveling there and contributing to the cost of the room.
According to the man’s account to officers, the pair had been talking for several days before meeting at the hotel. He said Sierra’s behavior began changing after she drank alcohol, becoming more aggressive and argumentative as the evening continued.
Sierra Admits Throwing An Item
As officers questioned Sierra, she acknowledged damaging something inside the hotel.
When asked about a plant, she responded, “Well, I just threw it. I ain’t going to lie,” and said she was willing to pay for it. She argued, however, that she felt hotel staff had treated her unfairly by making her leave.
“I am sorry for throwing that plant,” she later told officers.
Police initially appeared interested in calming the situation rather than immediately arresting her. One officer told Sierra they did not want to arrest her and were only trying to understand what had happened.
That makes the next part of the encounter especially notable. At that stage, the footage suggests there was still an opportunity for the incident to remain mostly a property dispute, but Sierra’s behavior continued to grow more confrontational while officers were trying to sort out the competing accounts.
Hotel staff later showed officers additional damage, saying an item was broken and that Sierra had also smashed a glass container that had held a flower. Broken glass was reportedly scattered near the area where it had been sitting.
Encounter With Police Quickly Escalates
Sierra repeatedly told officers that she was drunk and described herself as behaving foolishly.
“I’m just being stupid,” she said at one point. “Clearly, that’s all I’m doing. I’m drunk.”
As officers continued speaking with her, however, the situation deteriorated. Bodycam footage shows commands for Sierra to sit back down and stop moving, followed by a physical struggle as officers attempted to control and restrain her.
During the struggle, Sierra accused one officer of touching her inappropriately. Her claims were made while officers were physically trying to restrain and reposition her, and the supplied footage does not establish that her allegation was substantiated.
Officers can then be heard coordinating with one another as they rolled her over and attempted to get her under control.
The scene had moved far beyond the original broken-property complaint by then. Whatever frustration Sierra may have felt about being removed from the hotel, fighting the officers trying to investigate the situation only created a much more serious problem for her.
Police Deal With Continued Resistance
The struggle continued after Sierra was restrained, with officers repeatedly directing her movements and trying to safely move her.
At another point, officers discussed having a spit guard available, and Midwest Safety’s host later said Sierra had spit on an officer during the encounter.
The footage also captures officers reacting when she began banging her head, adding yet another concern while they were attempting to move her from the scene.
Sierra continued protesting and demanding that police take action against the man she had been with, while officers gathered information from him separately.
The man told investigators that their sexual encounter had been consensual and said he had material on his phone that could support his account if Sierra later made an allegation against him. Officers told him to keep the material available but did not take his phone at that time.
That part of the footage shows why police interviews during volatile domestic or dating disputes can become complicated very quickly. Officers were not simply dealing with damaged hotel property; they were also hearing conflicting personal claims that required them to preserve information and avoid jumping to conclusions while simultaneously controlling an increasingly disorderly scene.
Court Records Show Three Charges
According to Midwest Safety’s host, court records later showed that Sierra was charged with resisting or obstructing, criminal damage to property and disorderly conduct.
She is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
The host argued that the encounter became far worse than it needed to be because Sierra did not simply accept responsibility for damaging the hotel property. In his interpretation of the footage, the original argument had already gotten out of hand because she was heavily intoxicated, but her reaction after police arrived transformed the situation into something more serious.
He also focused on Sierra’s repeated statements about being 21.
The Midwest Safety narrator said her age appeared to be used almost as an explanation for her behavior, but argued that being 21 meant she was already old enough to understand the consequences of her actions.
“21 is old enough to know better,” the host said, adding that getting older happens automatically while growing up requires a choice.
There is a fair point buried beneath the channel’s humorous framing. Alcohol may explain why a person’s judgment deteriorates, but it does not erase the consequences that follow when damaged property, physical resistance and confrontations with police become part of the same incident.
What began as a troubled hotel date could potentially have ended with Sierra leaving, arranging another place to stay and dealing with the damaged property afterward.
