A DeKalb County family is demanding answers after home surveillance video captured what relatives say were the final moments of 58-year-old Janice Frazier’s life, including footage they believe shows her being run over in her own driveway before her body was dragged back toward the house.
In a report for WSB-TV, investigative reporter Ashli Lincoln said Frazier’s family shared the surveillance footage in hopes it will help police determine exactly what happened during the early morning hours of June 21.
The family identified the man seen in the video as Frazier’s estranged ex-husband. They say he arrived unexpectedly at her home around 2 a.m., and they believe the encounter quickly escalated into a deadly situation.
DeKalb County police confirmed that the case remains under investigation but declined to discuss details because it is active. No criminal charges were announced in Lincoln’s report, and the family’s account has not yet been tested in court.
Still, the video has become central to the family’s calls for accountability.
“The cameras told the entire story,” Frazier’s niece, Ashley Black, told Lincoln.
Family Says Ex-Husband Arrived Unexpectedly
According to Frazier’s relatives, her estranged ex-husband showed up at the home in the middle of the night without warning.
Lincoln reported that video reviewed by Channel 2 appeared to show a man the family identified as Frazier’s ex-husband walking toward a pickup truck while holding what looked like a flask.
The family said Frazier became concerned that he might try to drive while intoxicated.
They told Lincoln that she got inside the truck in an attempt to stop him from leaving. At some point, the man got out of the vehicle, but the family said he then ran back toward the driver’s seat.
The circumstances leading up to that moment remain under police investigation. It is not clear what was said between the two or what may have happened before the cameras captured the confrontation outside.
But the footage, according to the family’s description, appears to show the interaction turning dangerous as the truck began moving down the driveway.
Video Appears To Show Frazier Holding Onto The Truck
Lincoln said the surveillance video shows Frazier holding onto the side of the truck as it pulled away.
The family said she grabbed the passenger-side door and knocked on the window while the truck moved down the driveway. Channel 2 stopped its broadcast footage before the most graphic portion, but relatives said Frazier eventually lost her grip and fell beneath the truck.
They believe she was then run over.
For the family, the video is painful but also important because it offers a record of what happened in an incident that may otherwise have depended entirely on conflicting accounts.
Frazier’s nephew, Chris Frazier, said the death came as a complete shock.
“This was so unexpected,” he told Lincoln. “This just hit us like a storm. We didn’t see this coming from a mile away.”

After the truck traveled down the driveway, the surveillance video reportedly shows the driver returning toward the house.
According to Lincoln’s report, the footage appears to show the man walking up to Frazier near the bottom of the driveway before dragging her body back uphill toward the home.
The family said he did not immediately call 911 or attempt lifesaving measures.
“To not even call 911, not to try to do CPR, but to drag her up a driveway, it’s just heartless,” Black told WSB-TV.
The family said the video shows Frazier being moved back toward the residence, where they believe additional actions took place before emergency help was contacted.
Those allegations are among the most serious questions investigators will need to examine. Surveillance footage can show movement and timing, but detectives will still need to determine what happened off camera, what injuries Frazier suffered, when she died, and whether any actions after the incident affected the evidence.
The public video alone cannot answer every question. But it may provide investigators with a detailed timeline that is difficult to dispute.
Family Says Clothing Was Changed Before Son Was Called
Frazier’s relatives told Lincoln that after bringing her inside, her estranged ex-husband changed her clothing before contacting her son.
They said he later told her son that he did not know what had happened.
Chris Frazier said seeing his mother in that condition was traumatic for her son.
“For a son to see that, it was just not called for,” he said.
The family’s account raises questions not only about the driveway incident but also about what occurred inside the home afterward. If investigators determine that clothing was changed or that other items were moved, those actions could become part of the evidence they review.
At this point, DeKalb County police have not publicly described what officers found when they arrived, whether they have recovered the truck involved, or whether anyone has been interviewed as a suspect.

Lincoln reported that the family also shared a letter they said Frazier’s estranged husband wrote on the day of the incident.
According to relatives, the letter described his difficulty moving on from the relationship.

Relatives also said the man later returned to the property and removed belongings from a storage shed behind the home.

“She was an angel on earth,” Black told Lincoln. “She didn’t deserve what he did to her.”

“We really want justice because we lost a very special person in our family,” Chris Frazier said.
