A verbal confrontation between a driver and a group of teenagers riding bicycles escalated into a far more serious incident inside a high school parking lot, where police said the woman behind the wheel struck one of the teens, hit two parked vehicles and then drove away.
The bodycam footage and narration presented by the YouTube channel Police Insider show officers piecing together what happened on August 29, 2025, using witness statements and school surveillance video before eventually locating the driver. She denied hitting anyone with her car even after an officer told her that video showed a teenager being knocked from his bicycle.
Police Insider reported that the woman was ultimately charged with felonious assault, possession of drugs, reckless operation and a seat belt violation, and was later released on a $25,000 bond.
Witness Says The Argument Began On The Road
A teenage witness told officers that the trouble had started before anyone reached the high school parking lot, when the woman allegedly became angry at the group for riding their bikes in the roadway.
According to his account in the bodycam footage, she began honking and yelling at them, telling the teenagers to get out of the road and follow traffic rules. He said the argument continued at a green light, where she remained stopped long enough to keep exchanging words with them.
The witness said the cyclists eventually moved along, but the woman later entered the high school parking lot through what he described as a no-entry area and struck one of his friends.
“She comes in no entry, hits him right here,” he told the officer while pointing out the location where the bicycle had gone down.
Officers examining the scene said the bike appeared to have been struck near the entrance before the driver swerved left and collided with two parked vehicles farther into the lot.
Campus surveillance footage later showed the driver continuing through the parking area after the crash, reaching the back of the lot, turning around and leaving again through the same general area, according to Police Insider’s narration.
The Driver Allegedly Hit Two Parked Cars As Well
Investigators found debris scattered around the parking lot, including pieces that officers believed had fallen from the woman’s vehicle.
One parked vehicle had sustained enough damage that officers discussed whether its wheel might rub against the body if the owner tried to drive it home, while another vehicle had also been hit.
An officer who was already working at the high school because of a football game immediately began looking for the fleeing vehicle.
Police then issued a BOLO, or be-on-the-lookout alert, to surrounding agencies while officers continued interviewing witnesses, documenting the damaged cars and collecting information for insurance reports.
The fact that several different pieces of evidence were available appears to have helped investigators quickly narrow down what had happened. They had eyewitnesses, vehicle debris, damage to the parked cars and, most importantly, surveillance footage from the school.
That combination left considerably less room for the incident to remain a dispute between competing versions of events.
Victim’s Mother Wanted Charges Pursued
Officers also contacted the juvenile cyclist’s mother to ask whether she wanted investigators to pursue charges against the driver.
One officer explained that nothing was guaranteed, but said the conduct could potentially support an assault or even felonious assault charge because investigators were considering not only whether the teen had been badly hurt, but the alleged intent and danger created by using a vehicle in that manner.
The mother said she wanted charges pursued.
“I don’t think it’s cool that someone can just run around and hit kids in the parking lot,” she told the officer.
The officer agreed and explained that he needed the family’s cooperation before moving forward with that portion of the case.
Within minutes of that conversation, investigators received a Flock camera alert that helped locate the suspect vehicle.
Officers Stop The Driver
Bodycam footage then shows police stopping the vehicle and ordering the woman to turn off the engine and step outside.
She told officers almost immediately that she had been on her way to the police station.
After being detained, she was placed in the back of a patrol vehicle, advised of her rights and questioned about the visible damage to her car.
The woman acknowledged that she had been involved in a confrontation with the boys while driving near the school, saying they had been riding bicycles in the roadway and that she had honked at them.
She said the argument intensified when one of the boys allegedly rode alongside her vehicle and spit in her face through the open window.
According to her account, the group also threatened to shoot her and banged on her car, causing her adrenaline to spike.
She admitted hitting another vehicle after turning into the parking lot but insisted that she had not struck any person.
“I didn’t hit nobody,” she told the officer.
Surveillance Footage Contradicted Her Account
The officer then directly asked whether she had hit anyone riding a bicycle.
She again said no.
When the officer asked how she would react if he told her someone had been injured by her vehicle, she said she would be shocked because she did not believe she had struck anyone.
The conversation changed once police mentioned surveillance footage.
“Was there anybody on a bike that you hit with your car?” the officer asked again.
“No,” she replied.
“Well, that’s a lie,” the officer told her.
The woman immediately asked whether she could see the footage, and after officers told her it would eventually become available through the case, she invoked her right to stop answering questions.
Later, when an officer informed her that she would likely be taken to the county jail for felonious assault, she continued denying that she had hit the cyclist.
“We have video showing you hitting him, flipping him off his bike,” the officer said.
She still disputed the accusation, claiming the boy had moved out of the way before her car reached him.
The presence of surveillance video is what makes the case especially significant, because it gave investigators something far stronger than memory or accusation after a chaotic road-rage encounter. Whatever disagreement existed about what was said beforehand, officers said the camera footage captured the impact itself.
Multiple Charges Followed
Police Insider reported that officers also discovered drugs inside the vehicle during the investigation, although the channel’s narration did not identify the substance in the provided footage.
