You should clean your mouth and teeth thoroughly at least once each day. If you don’t have a toothbrush, make a chewing stick. Find a twig and chew one end of it to separate the fibers. Brush your teeth thoroughly with the stick. You can also wrap a clean strip of cloth around your fingers and rub your teeth clean, or salt on a fingertip can suffice if applied gently.
If you have a cavity, you can make a temporary filling by placing candle wax, tobacco, aspirin, or portions of a ginger root into the cavity. Make sure you clean the cavity by rinsing or picking the particles out of the cavity before placing a filling in the cavity.
