Swivel Knot
The Swivel Knot is also known as the Cairnton or Woods Knot. Knots used as Swivel Knots, while attached to the shank of a ring or eye, must not impair the action of the swivel. It is also an accepted knot to attach a line to a fly because, tied around the hook's shank, it creates a straighter pull.
To Tie a Swivel Knot:
| Pass the end through the eye or ring, then wrap and tuck like shown. |
|
| Push the second loop over the eye or ring, to rest snugly alongside the first one. |
|
| Tighten the knot. |
